The Doering Family (Luke, Bill, Becka, and Emilee)
For the season finale of Schooled Radio, we interviewed the Doering family: a university technology specialist, a 3rd-grade teacher, a first-year high school student, and a graduating senior ready to begin university life. In this episode, we hear their perspectives on the challenges of the past year and how they responded individually, as well as collectively.
About the Doerings: Bill Doering (dad) has worked at UCSB for over 25 years, mostly at the GGSE and currently as part of the Campus Cloud Team. Likes to garden, play basketball and soccer and engage in alternative energy opportunities. Becka Doering (mom) works as a 3rd grade teacher at Peabody Charter School. She has been involved in Education for most of her working life. Daughter Emilee just graduated from San Marcos High School. She is a soccer player, ocean/beach-goer and Storyteller preschool program founder. Son Lucas just finished his freshman year at Santa Barbara High School and is a National Honor Society member, Dons basketball player, and dedicated surfer.
