Dr. Shane Jimerson

For our first episode of our second year of Schooled Radio, we speak with Dr. Shane R. Jimerson about two exciting additions to the Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology program at UCSB's Gevirtz School of Education, including Project TEAMS and a new Master's program.

Dr. Shane R. Jimerson is a professor in the Department of Counseling, Clinical, and School Psychology at UCSB’s Gevirtz Graduate School of Education. Dr. Jimerson is a Nationally Certified School Psychologist and recognized by The American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress as a Board-Certified Expert and Diplomat. Jimerson has an extensive scholarly record, having served as an Editor, Senior Editor, and Associate Editor of multiple academic journals from School Psychology Review to the International Science for the School Psychology.


Throughout his career he has also served as editor of numerous handbooks that are frequently used in school psychology training programs. In addition, his research and scholarship has been featured in many graduate school programs. His research interests include school violence and safety, reading education, safety education, educational psychology, and numerous other fields. To name just one of his many awards, Jimerson was the recipient of the 2020 Trainers of School Psychologists Outstanding Trainer Award.
