Pedro Paz, Executive Director of the Santa Barbara Education Foundation

In this episode, we talk to the Executive Director of one of the organizations we are especially thankful for: the Santa Barbara Education Foundation. Executive Director Pedro Paz is an advocate for, and a proud graduate of, Santa Barbara schools, all the way through!


Pedro Paz was born and raised in Santa Barbara County where he attended Dos Pueblos High School and Santa Barbara City College. Pedro has a Ph.D. and M.A. from UC Santa Barbara in Education with an emphasis in Language, Culture and Literacy. He is passionate about serving his community and giving back to causes that contribute to the diversity and vibrant nature of the community he was born in. He has worked for several prominent local organizations and for eleven years he worked for the County of Santa Barbara. In addition, he has served as a Trustee for the Santa Barbara Unified School District Board of Education, having been elected to the board in 2012 and ending his term in 2016. Currently he works for the Santa Barbara Education Foundation as the Executive Director, and continues to serve the community as member of the Santa Barbara City College Foundation Board of Directors.
